Project Examples
Peakview Circuit Upgrade – 2010 (03/15/10 – 08/31/10) – Town of Estes Park
Hamlin Electric Company recently replaced a 3-phase distribution line for 1.44 miles in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This project consisted of installing 336 ACSR phase conductor and 4/0 ACSR neutral conductor. A self propelled back yard machine with auger and rated bucket attachment was instrumental.
United States Air Force Academy (08/10/09 – Current) – Colorado Springs Utilities
Hamlin Electric Crew’s are installing a 600 amp main backbone that consists of installing approximately ½ million feet of 6” pipe & 250,000 feet of 4” pipe. Hamlin installed 6-6” pipe & 3-4” pipe all concrete encased and installed 61 – 6×12 submersible underground vaults. Hamlin also had to abide by the environmental requirements of the Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP). Hamlin is current on this project, and is hoping to be awarded the final phase of job that would install an additional 120,000 feet of 6” pipe & 60,000 feet of 4” pipe all concrete encased that would loop the entire cadet housing & schooling area of the United States Air Force Academy.
Interquest and Federal to Voyager to FedEx Campus (10/27/09 – Current) – Colorado Springs Utilities
Hamlin Electric Company was installing a dedicated 600 amp circuit from a substation to the FedEx Campus Building. This project consisted of installing approximately 100,000 feet of 6-6” pipe & 2-4” pipe all concrete encased. Hamlin also had to abide by the environmental requirements of the Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP). Hamlin is complete on this project.
Dublin Blvd (Powers Blvd to Austin Bluffs Parkway) (01/15/2010 – Current) – Colorado Springs Utilities
Hamlin Electric Crew’s tied two substations together on this project. This underground line runs down Dublin Blvd in Colorado Springs, CO. Hamlin cut through asphalt to install the 28,000 feet of 4-6” pipe and 14,000 feet of 2-4” pipe all concrete encased. Hamlin also had to abide by the environmental requirements of the Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP).
This project consists of installing 16,800 feet of 6-6” pipe and 11,200 feet of 4-4” pipe all concrete encased. Hamlin also had to abide by the environmental requirements of the Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP).
Overhead & Underground Force Accounts (06/2001 – Current) – Colorado Springs Utilities
Hamlin Electric Company has worked for Colorado Springs Utilities as their main contractor for the last 12 years. During these years Hamlin has performed maintenance work and new installs on both overhead and underground facilities. Hamlin had an average 10 – 12 crews while working for Colorado Springs Utilities.
Overhead & Underground Force Accts (1970 – 12/31/09) – Mountain View Electric
Hamlin Electric Company worked for Mountain View Electric Association as their main contractor for 39 years. During these years Hamlin performed maintenance work and new installs on both overhead and underground facilities. Being keenly aware of the adverse effects electrical outages have on homes we provided rapid response for MVEA customers. Hamlin had an average of 7-10 crews working for Mountain View Electric Association.
Gould 1-phase to 3-phase Rebuild (08/03/09 – 10/23/09) – Mountain Parks Electric
This project consisted of replacing a 1-phase line with a new 3-phase line for 7.26 miles in Walden, CO. Hamlin replaced 4 ACSR conductor with 4/0 ACSR conductor.
Navopache Distribution Project 300.45 (07/06/09 – 09/25/09) – Navopache Electric Coop
Hamlin Electric converted 8.95 miles of 3-phase #6A CWC to 3-phase “Penguin” 4/0 – 6/1 ACSR phase conductor and “Raven” 1/0-6/1, ACSR neutral conductor.
Latigo Ranch Tap Rebuild (06/22/09 – 07/31/09) – Mountain Parks Electric
Hamlin’s crew replaced 5.23 miles of 1-phase line for the Latigo Tap with #4 ACSR being removed and 1/0 ACSR being installed.
Murphy to Parshall Rebuild (07/28/08 – 06/19/09) – Mountain Parks Electric
This project consisted of rebuilding 12 miles of 3-phase distribution line installing 4/0 ACSR conductor and .4 miles of 500 AL.
Time & Equipment Crews – Wyoming (2002 – 01/10/10) – PacifiCorp
Hamlin Electric Company has worked for PacifiCorp. We have performed Time and Equipment & Hard Money projects in Utah, Wyoming & Idaho. This work ranges from overhead & underground distribution (maintenance and new build) to overhead transmission (maintenance and new build).
